Vancouver Island Trout Fishing – All Year!

Vancouver Island Trout Fishing

on the World Famous Cowichan River.

~ $425/day for up to 2 anglers

Vancouver Island trout fly fishing on the famous Cowichan River is some of the best in the world.  As long as there is enough water in the river to drift down it with my drift boats the trout fishing on the Cowichan river rarely disappoints!  Typically, trout fishing will start in mid October and will continue right through until the end of June for Rainbows, Cutties and Big Brown Trout.

The Upper Cowichan River is world renowned for its large and plentiful Brown Trout.  These fish can grow in the river to be up to 12lbs. In fact, a fellow angler this winter landed an 8 lb Brown in the lower Cowichan river while fishing for Steelhead.  There are also tons of resident Rainbow trout and Cuttthroats throughout the system.  This fishing trip is an all day fish, starting in the morning then we drift 15-20kms.

Dry Fly Fishing is best from April 15th thru May! Book now for some of the best dry fly trout fishing B.C. has to offer.

If you are interested in Fly or Gear fishing the Upper Cowichan river for large Browns and Rainbows, or the Upper Stamp river for Cutties, you can take advantage of my ‘Trout’ fishing special of $425/day for two anglers on my drift boat .trout and steel

Best times to Fly Fish on the Cowichan river:

Mid October thru February 15th is fantastic for Big Brown trout and Rainbows while the Salmon are spawning these fish are feeding hungrily on salmon eggs and are very easy to catch.

February thru March has excellent upper river Steelheading as these fish move up river to spawn.

Mid April thru May has excellent dry fly fishing for Rainbows, Cutties and Brown trout.
