The Comox Valley is the recreation capital of Canada, its the only place you can ski in the morning, play 9 holes of golf mid day and then fish for salmon in the evening, all within a 20 minute drive.
The Comox Valley Saltwater Salmon fishing is a pretty well kept secret. The locals keep a tight lip on when and where the fish are. You won’t find many people talking about it on the internet fishing forums or in the local newspaper, but the truth is the fishing is probably better in the Comox Valley in May and June than anywhere else on the East coast of Vancouver Island. The fishing remains strong through out the summer, from the Cape Mudge lighthouse all the way to Flores Island. Last May my boat caught over 30 springs in 12 outings, the largest being 24lbs, that is a pretty big Chinook for May!
