Cowichan River Fishing Report

| January 8, 2013

The Cowichan River fishing report is made possible by my friends at Alberni Toyota!

Well the water has been dropping steadily for the last couple of weeks until today.  Today with the rain and the snow this afternoon, the river is on the rise.  The water clarity is a steelhead green with about 4ft of visibility (perfect).  The fishing has been very consistent with a steady flow of Chrome fish moving in everyday.  As the month progresses the fishing should get better although the last week needed no improvements in the catching!  This time of year the fish are not as numerous but can be very large.  I landed my largest Cowichan River Steelhead of 2013 yesterday, check it out:

I have guide days available in January if you are wanting a chance at one of these massive Steelhead that make the Cowichan River famous!  Call me at 250-218-1087 or email me at ramblingfisherman@gmail.com or Click Here
